As the mother of a toddler I was searching for the best early childhood education program.
I found out about the Montessori method from my friend Yasmin and was absolutely wowed by the principals of Maria Montessori! Determined to give my son the best foundation and start in life, I registered him in a Montessori in Surrey where Yasmin taught. This was the best decision I ever made as my son absolutely blossomed. My shy and timid child started becoming confident, asked questions and unafraid to try.
Yasmin an exceptional leader and teacher and brought out the best is her students. She was totally dedicated and cared about her students. She allowed them a degree of freedom and individuality (without criticism) along with responsibility of dealing with consequences that go with making every decision. These were real life skills on how to become a human being with good ethics and values. This brought out the best in my son! There was no rote or memorizing but learning from hands on and practical life experiences. She respected each child for who they were – individual and unique

I have known Yasmin Hasham since I was in Grade 2. She is such an amazing teacher, and has helped me a lot in the subject Language Arts. When I was young, I didn’t know much English and it was just very challenging, but I have come a long way with the help of Yasmin. She has taught me so much and I am grateful for all the help.

Choosing the right early childhood education is a daunting task. As a working professional and a mother of 3 boys, this was one of the hardest choices. I was very lucky to have Yasmin Hasham teach my 2 children for over a period of 4 years, from ages 3 up until the end of Kindergarten, in a Montessori Program.
Each of my children has a very different personality and therefore a different style but Yasmin was very intuitive about which method would best engage each child. I feel that Yasmin was instrumental in helping the children develop into the strong, confident, articulate, hardworking and polite individuals they are today. She was not only helpful at the school but also offered me the resources I could use outside the school to further their education. I am very grateful for her contribution to our lives.
Kristin Cassie ( Principal - Roots & Wings Montessori School)
Yasmin was employed at Roots & Wings Montessori School for eight years, as a teacher in a Montessori mixed-age grouping, ages six to nine. She holds her BC Teacher Certification and Montessori Certification, which provided her with the unique tools necessary to teach this specialized group.
Yasmin was a mainstay of our school, an excellent, conscientious and well-organized teacher. Her rapport with the children was warm and professional. She was always ready to support other staff and to contribute to the well-being of the school as a whole. She has a generous and caring spirit and I remember her with fondness.
